Sadhu Board Materials: Copper, Galvanised Nails, Brass and Wood
How to compare Sadhu board materials
Choosing a Sadhu board involves several separate decisions: the nail metal, the wooden base, fixed or floating construction, nail spacing and the size of the working area. Changing the metal does not automatically change the mechanism or spacing. Compare like-for-like configurations before deciding what is worth paying for.
The POPOVYCH range includes copper, galvanised steel and brass nails with solid ash or thermally modified ash. Check the current models and available options for a particular combination. Availability and the final price depend on the model and selected configuration.
Sadhu boards with copper nails
Copper nails give a board a warm metallic appearance and are available in both fixed and floating POPOVYCH designs. A copper model can therefore be chosen for its material and visual character, with the movement of the nails selected separately.
When comparing a Sadhu board with copper nails, check the actual metal description, spacing, board size and construction. A copper colour alone does not tell you whether another product uses copper or a coloured coating. Ask the maker if the specification is unclear. Do not treat the metal name as evidence of a medical or therapeutic effect.
Galvanised steel nails and brass nails
Galvanised steel
Galvanised nails are steel nails with a zinc coating. In the POPOVYCH range, they provide a way to choose a lower-priced configuration while retaining the option of a floating mechanism. If independent nail movement is your priority, compare a floating galvanised model with a fixed copper model instead of choosing by metal alone.
Brass
Brass is a copper-and-zinc alloy and is a separate material option. It should not be described as pure copper or confused with zinc-coated steel. Review the chosen product’s specification and current availability before ordering. For a special material requirement, contact the workshop rather than assuming every combination can be supplied immediately.
Sadhu board wood: solid ash or thermally modified ash
Both options use solid wood. Ash provides the lighter appearance seen in the collection, while thermally modified ash has a darker tone. The natural grain makes each pair visually individual; a product photograph illustrates the design rather than promising an identical grain pattern.
Choose between them for the appearance and material you prefer, then check the finish and care instructions for the actual board. Thermally modified wood still needs appropriate handling and storage. Avoid interpreting a premium wood description as a promise that a board can be soaked, left in persistent damp or exposed to any cleaning chemical.
Nail metal, nail spacing and floating movement
For a first board, the workshop recommends beginning the selection with 10 mm nail spacing. Standard choices also include 12 mm; other specifications should be agreed before purchase. The appropriate overall choice also depends on size, construction and your experience.
The independent vertical movement in a floating Sadhu board is different from the horizontal distance between nails. Copper, brass or a darker wooden base does not replace that mechanism. Our Sadhu board selection guide helps you compare these parameters in a useful order.
Care and a practical checklist before buying
Before ordering, confirm the metal, wood, construction, size, spacing, finish, included items and total price. If you are considering engraving or a carrying bag, confirm whether each addition is included or charged separately. For a gift, the recipient’s foot measurements and preferences are more useful than selecting the most expensive material by default.
Read the care guide before cleaning or storing your board. Material choice does not establish clinical benefits; our benefits and evidence page separates product characteristics from health claims. For help comparing two specific configurations, email mail@sadhu.com.ua or message the workshop.
